Tamara Mellon Leaves Big Jimmy Choo Shoes To Be Filled, Cornelia Guest Ditches Her Fur For PETA, Feng Shui Jewelry, And More…

November 14, 2011

Tamara Mellon, who founded the Jimmy Choo company along with Choo in 1996, has announced her resignation from the brand. Mellon is set to leave her position at the end of the month and reportedly, “Mellon’s position is unlikely to be replaced.” [Vogue U.K.]

Elle Macpherson, Stella McCartney, and Helen Mirren are asking people in the U.K. to lend a hand—and a coat—to help keep the elderly warm this winter. As part of Age U.K.’s “Donate a Coat” initiative, the trio is hoping people will donate a coat to help prevent the estimated 200 deaths that take place in Britain every year due to the chilly temperatures. Cornelia Guest, the daughter of C.Z. Guest and polo champion Winston Frederick Churchill Guest, is PETA’s newest pinup girl. Guest has exchanged her fur coats in favor of animal-friendly clothes and accessories, like her new business venture, a collection of vegan handbags. [WWD]

Stylist and author of Feng Shui Chic, Carole Shashona, has created a line of good-energy jewelry. In the collection, there’s a chi-om, “meant to be a ‘portable energizer,’ and the turtle is ideal for urbanites who tend to carry their lives on their backs.” Her line is available on her site and her candle collection is set to go on sale at Barneys this winter.
