Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens has been making the talk-show rounds this week to promote some creepy movie she in called "Beastly," and on each stop--Letterman, "Regis and Kelly," our very own "The Seven"-- she's made sure to show off her wild side. That is, if you consider a pretty little butterfly tattoo on her neck wild.
As the story goes, the 22-year-old Hudgens recently stopped by East Side Ink during her down time to get under the needle of artist BangBang, the same guy who's tattooed Katy Perry and Rihanna. And how did she employ this artist's ample skills? She got a butterfly on her neck. It's perhaps the most common girly tattoo in the history of the genre. In fact, she's already got a butterfly tattoo on her shoulder blade. But at least it's got some meaning. As Vanessa told "The Seven," a week before she was born her parents didn't know what to name her. Then a butterfly landed on her mom's stomach, they found some word meaning butterfly (Vanessa apparently) and the rest is history.
We don't want to be too hard on Vanessa, but the butterfly might be the most common tat on ladies in all of Hollywood. Here are some of the other famous gals on the crowded butterfly tattoo bandwagon: Mariah Carey, Nicole Richie, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Olivia Wilde, Lea Michele, Drew Barrymore, Brandy and Kimora Lee Simmons. So yeah, not much of a statement, but we'll give her credit for getting it on the back of her neck and not the small of her back. And even more credit for not getting it on her face.
