Vanessa Bruno

Continuing with last season’s exploration of the juxtaposition between menswear and womenswear, Ms. Bruno opened her F/W 2013/14 show with menswear suiting fabrics and styles, custom made for today’s woman. The look progressed from this slightly masculine style to a more feminine day and work ensemble of pleated black and white dresses, short flirty skirts, fitted trousers, and nicely tailored mod and classic jackets and coats.
Printed, and coated treatments and large grommets embellished hems on skirts, and tailored button down shirts had contrast plackets which resembled skinny ties, both added a novelty twist to the slightly masculine designs which grounded the overall assortment. Wrapping up her collection, she presented lightweight white silks and sheer black chiffons, encrusted with white, silver, and black sequins, hand beadwork, and faceted stones, all added a wonderful glitter and sparkle to the finale. Every season, Ms. Bruno’s offerings give her girl a reason to replenish her wardrobe of easy-going work and play clothes.
