Leonardo DiCaprio
Just days shy of his new movie's November 9 release date, J. Edgar
star Leonardo DiCaprio hosted LACMA's inaugural
Art + Film Gala on Saturday night, honoring the film's director, Clint Eastwood, along with the conceptual
artist John Baldessari. Presented by Gucci and
co-hosted by Eva Chow, the night brought out the city's highest-wattage stars,
among them Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, and Reese Witherspoon.
While Mad Men's Jon Hamm admitted to eagerly anticipating the Eastwood/DiCaprio collaboration, it was the evening's setting that had him most excited. "One of the first shows I saw when I moved out to L.A. was an exhibition at LACMA, actually, a retrospective of John Baldessari. So it's just cool to be here." Drew Barrymore, on the other hand, was eager to talk Eastwood. "I love Play Misty for Me,” she said. "There are so many films that nod and tip their hat to that movie."
