Hermès

Hermès designs are getting a second life thanks to the heritage house's Petit h line, a series of objects recreated from discarded Hermès materials, items and objects to make new pieces with a sustainable stamp (as featured in #NovemberVogue). And the collection has landed in London.

"I invite designers and artists into the Petit h workshops - which we call our Ali Baba cavern - where all the different materials rejected by Hermès are gathered like acorns," explains Pascale Mussard, the mastermind behind the idea launched in 2010. "These collaborators have free rein to explore and create. Re-birth and up-cycling is the underlying approach. I love to recreate, re-invent and re-enchant," adds Mussard , who is a sixth generation member of the Hermès family.
Among the hidden treasures you'll find are stirrups reincarnated as handles of a leather swing, a teapot now a mobile and tea towels the new design for a chest of drawers, plus there'll be exclusive pieces created just for London - the brand has enlisted the help of designer and artist Faye Toogood. Pieces will be available until December 7.
