John Galliano is suing his former lawyer Stephane Zerbib for abuse of trust, charging that he stole $4.1 million. Galliano fired Zerbib this week, his spokesperson said, after discovering some abnormalities in Zerbib's accounting practices. Apparently, in 2010 Galliano entrusted a company he owns that manages revenue from image rights and his Dior work to Zerbib, who relinquished the duties in February. Galliano claims that Zerbib had his way with the company's funds.
The New York Post reports:

The lawsuit alleges that Galliano discovered multiple payments to the lawyer, including cash withdrawals near Zerbib's office using the company's card, on one occasion up to seven times a day.
Zerbib denied the allegations, saying that Galliano would be better off saving his fire for his trial.

The date for that trial — the one where Galliano will have to prove he's not an anti-Semite — will be set at a May 12 hearing. Zerbib plans to countersue for defamation.
Welcome to work, Aurélien Hamelle.
